Step 1:
Refine the foundation

You’re selling so much more than a product. It’s a lifestyle. A movement. 

Position your store, with brand as tool, answering why your audience should buy from you, so that you are top-of-mind in their heart & life.

  • Why: People buy from People and behind every small business, there’s a story worth knowing. Uncover your story.
  • Value: People don’t buy your product. They buy the value you offer through your product. Define what makes you unique and why your customer should buy from you.
  • Product: Customers will tell you their goals, dreams, frustrations. Not the solution. You provide them with the products that deliver on their needs & wants. Align your products to your why, customer and value.

PLAN

Step 2:
Prioritise your Growth

Rule of 7: the average number of times a potential customer must hear, see, or interact with your brand, before purchasing.

Build a growth strategy & messaging hierarchy to bring your audience back to your store…again and again; a plan that guides your audience through the customer journey (attract, engage, convert and delight).

  • Destination: Commit to something for the long-run. Knowing that creating something meaningful takes time. Define where you want to be.
  • Jumping-off point: To know where you are going, you have to know where you are starting from. Discover where you are now (starting with the 7 numbers to take control of your store).
  • Steps: A goal without a plan is a dream. Plan for the long-term, but focus on the here & now. Detail out most important action steps.

Phase 3: Take Action

Consistent action, creates consistent results. 

Take consistent, intentional, steps towards your defined and measurable goals, keeping your brand (pillar 1) and plan (pillar 2) in mind. Constantly tracking, reviewing and adapting as you go along.

  • Implement: A plan without action is just talk. Are you taking consistent action and implementing your plan? Real, long-term sustainable growth comes through slow and steady action that is taken over a longer period of time (with the occasional spurts).
  • Review: You can’t improve and manage what you don’t measure. Track the metrics and KPIs. Track what you are doing on a weekly basis, with more in-depth reviews every month, quarter and year.
  • Adapt: The ability to change and adapt, to both, circumstances and based on what your numbers are showing, is one of your biggest strengths. Based on your review, what can you tweak to amplify what’s working, or adapt what’s not, to help you towards reaching your goal?

This phase also includes reviewing your systems and resources needed to implement the plans optimally (e.g your ways of working, tools, team/hiring)
